i've been waiting for about 2 weeks to see Collin's reaction to his fb page. HAPPY BIRTHDAY COLLIN!!! i hope you have a great birthday even tho Good Morning America totally botched the moment of revelation! and that you liked the little gift i amazon-ed to you.
learning point:
- at times in life we're going to be seriously down and out. and feel overwhelmed by hopelessness, loneliness all sorts of negativity etc
- but sometimes we just have to be brave (or humble?) enough to ask for help from others. you might be surprised at how empathetic some people can be - i believe its in our nature!
- on the flipside of this, sometimes, all you need to do is just to be present, and offer an empathetic listening ear to others feeling this way. no comments, no judgement, just a simple and focused desire to listen and understand. alot of times thats all people need.
